1. Choose your role on the cryptology team. There are several roles that you may choose to work together in. Each group member must choose a different role. If you are working as a group of 2 choose two different roles, If you are working as a group of four, choose one role:
Multiplication expert Creates and checks all multiplication problems Researcher Gathers information on cryptology and vocabulary Cryptographer Coordinates creation of the code Organization Specialist Organizes and types in information given by team mates. All group members: are responsible for evaluating and solving their cryptogram, answering data worksheet, helping other in their roles as needed, filling out and putting their initials on the evidence portion of the evaluation 2. Research Research information on cryptology and vocabulary Be a cryptanalysist at: http://www.geocities.com/cryptogramcorner/ Create a cryptogram sample: using numbers at: http://puzzlemaker.com/cryptogramSetUpForm.html Practice on multiplication using flashcards or internet if you are not involved in researching and have finished cryptanalyzing and sample cryptogram. 3. Create chart ...with multiplication problems and products for each letter A-Z. Do not repeat any products or problems. 4. Decide on ...what message you will be sending to the specialist. It should be between one and two sentences long. It should use appropriate language and content. It should be okayed by specialist
5. Create your Final Cryptogram After you have decided on your message, write the code that matches it using your completed chart. Put blanks underneath each letter. Put at least five spaces between each word. Give at least two clues. If you are not able to decide on a way to present your cryptogram, ask your teacher to find the sample multiplication cryptogram.
